Dr. Randy Chambers assists his daughter Austin Chambers, 4, to change the exam room paper to provide a clean environment for Austin’s adjustment. Chambers says that Austin likes to do it herself, and knows the drill. Austin Chambers says that she too wants to be a chiropractor one day like her dad. Austin Chambers gets adjusted by her dad regularly. Dr. Randy Chambers says if one of his kids has any complaints about pains in their back or neck he will even do the adjustments in their home. "She knows what she's doing! She has done this many times before," Dr. Randy Chambers said as his daughter Austin prepares the exam room bed for her adjustment. "It's a kid-friendly environment and helps people feel connected with real people," Rebecca Chambers said.

DEWITT — For Dr. Randy Chambers, there isn’t much difference between work and home.

After all, he sees his family all day at 203 S. Bridge St., where Chambers runs Chambers Chiropractic & Nutritional Healing Center. His wife Rebecca Chambers, daughter Austin Chambers, 4, and dog Ginger all join him at work there.

“It allows us to spend time with our kids and work at the same time. It’s important to us that we are able to spend as much time with our kids as possible. We are very family-oriented and that’s what makes our practice thrive. Patients respond really well to having our kids around. It’s enlightening,” said Rebecca Chambers.

Rebecca Chambers, wife of Dr. Randy Chambers, sits with the family dog, Ginger, at her desk in the office. Ginger typically hangs out in her cage under the desk or comes out to play with Austin. Ginger is very protective of Austin and often barks at male patients who come into their office. "Ginger is very protective over Austin, she barks at a lot of patients sometimes and we have to keep her in the cage," Chambers said. Chambers also mentions that their practice is important because you only get one spine. She works side by side with her husband to create a positive atmosphere for patients. The basement includes a trampoline, a dollhouse, a television, several board games, exercise machines, a refrigerator with snacks, and even a bed in case the children wants to take a nap or get tired. Austin Chambers often interacts with patients and asks them about their technology devices. The Chambers’ bring all their children to work during the summer, but during the school year Austin is the only one that comes everyday. "Austin plays on my iPad during the day in the office to pass time. She interacts with different patients and compares different apps. Patients come in just to see Austin. They love talking to her!," Rebecca Chambers said. In the summer, all four of their children come in to the office for the entire day.
